Every pooja mandir in our collection is made to order in our Navi Mumbai studio using American Tulip wood - a certified sustainable hardwood chosen for its strength, stability, and exceptional ability to hold fine carving detail. Whether you are looking for a traditional standing wooden mandir, a south Indian mandapam, or a contemporary wooden home temple, each piece is built by hand and delivered to your door across India. From Mumbai to Chennai, Delhi to Bengaluru - our wooden mandirs are made for the homes of modern India.
DESIGN FEATURES
Every detail considered, every element intentional
Our wooden pooja mandirs are designed with as much attention to what goes inside them as to the structure itself. Each feature is drawn from the temple-making traditions of India - refined for the homes of today.
Mandapam - memory and nostalgia
Inspired by South Indian temple mandapams - carved columns, layered rooflines, Annapakshi motifs. A devotional vocabulary that Indian homes have spoken for centuries.
Pure brass accents
Each accent - kalash, bells, hanging diyas - is chosen for its spiritual significance and its ability to age beautifully with antique coating.
Pooja Essentials
Deep Peetam for the brass lamps, Naivedya Peetam for offerings - available as additions to complete the sacred space.
Large pooja temples
Spacious interiors built to house multiple deities, Tanjore paintings, and full pooja sets - for a dedicated pooja room that feels complete.
Contemporary Wooden Mandir
Clean proportions, restrained carving, warm wood tones. Designed to belong in a modern Indian home without losing the sanctity of a traditional wooden temple.

American Tulip wood - why we chose it for Indian homes
Most wooden mandirs in India are made from Sheesham or Mango. Ours are made from American Tulip wood - a certified sustainable hardwood imported from the USA. Here is why it makes a difference for a home temple built to last a lifetime in India.
FSC & Phyto certified
Our Tulip wood is FSC-certified and Phyto-certified - meeting the strictest international timber sourcing standards. Every wooden mandir we make begins with wood that is fully traceable and responsibly sourced.
Premium Hardwood
A tight, even grain that holds intricate carving detail without splintering - producing sharper, cleaner results than Sheesham or Mango wood used in most wooden mandirs.
Built for Indian Climates
Precisely air-dried to ensure dimensional stability across India's varied climates - from humid coastal homes to dry northern interiors.
Lifetime warranty
We back every wooden temple for home with a lifetime structural warranty. Solid wood built properly does not fail - and we stand behind that completely.
FINISHES
Tint colours - chosen carefully
A home temple carries a different light than any other piece of furniture. The colours we offer are not a general palette - they are a considered set, chosen specifically for how they read on carved wood in a sacred space. Each has been tested across our full range of wooden pooja mandirs to ensure it honours the grain, the detail, and the intention of the piece.

Contact us โ โบTEMPLE VASTU
Where to place your home temple - vastu guidelines
Placement of the pooja mandir and orientation of the pooja space as per Vastu Shastra. The direction of your home temple directly influences the energy of your sacred space.
North-East (NE) โ IDEAL
The Ishanya corner - the most auspicious placement for a home temple as per vastu. Associated with divine energy, clarity, and spiritual growth.
North (N) โ GOOD
Associated with Kubera, the deity of wealth and prosperity. A strong alternative when north-east placement is not possible
East (E) โ ACCEPTABLE
Face the mandir east so you face the rising sun during morning prayers. Widely followed in South Indian homes and for mandapam setups.
South (S) โ AVOID
Generally avoided for a home temple as per vastu guidelines. South and south-west directions are not recommended for a sacred space.
The mandir should be placed at eye level or slightly above - never on the floor. Avoid placing your wooden pooja mandir directly facing a toilet wall or inside a bedroom where possible.

FAQ
Common questions from our customers
Which wood is best for a wooden pooja mandir?
We use American Tulip wood - a certified sustainable hardwood that is FSC and Phyto-certified. Unlike Sheesham or Mango wood used in most wooden mandirs in India, Tulip wood has an even grain, superior stability across Indian climates, and holds fine carving detail over a lifetime. Every piece also carries a lifetime structural warranty.
Which direction should a pooja mandir face as per vastu?
As per vastu shastra, the north-east corner is the most auspicious placement for a home temple - known as the Ishanya corner. The deity should ideally face north or east. South and south-west directions are generally avoided for a wooden pooja mandir.
What size wooden mandir is right for my home?
For a 1BHK or 2BHK, a wall-mounted wooden mandir or a compact standing temple up to 60 cm wide works well. For a dedicated pooja room, our Grand Temple and mandapam designs offer a complete sacred space. All dimensions can be adjusted to your room at the time of order.
Do you make south Indian style pooja mandirs and mandapams?
Yes - our mandapam collection is inspired by South Indian temple architecture, with carved columns, Annapakshi motifs, and gopuram-style rooflines. These can be made to your exact dimensions and preferred wood finish.
Can I customise my wooden home temple?
We have thoughtfully worked out multiple sizes across our collection - and we encourage you to find the one that best fits your space and intention. Minor adjustments in size and colour are always welcome. Reach out to our team before placing your order and we will make it work.
